CINCINNATI \u2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said wide receiver Jermaine Burton is doing rehab work as he tries to get back on the field at training camp.<\/p>\n

Burton missed Sunday\u2019s practice with an \u201cundisclosed injury,\u201d\u00a0which he later took to social media to explain, saying \u201cMy absence was DUE TO INJURY, not for any other reason. Any suggestion otherwise is simply untrue.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Taylor said Burton might have sustained the injury during Cincinnati\u2019s first preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He said he is dealing with swelling and working to rejoin his teammates soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be day-to-day,\u201d Taylor said. \u201cHe will do some rehab work on the rehab field (Tuesday) and then we\u2019ll see if we can get him in this next tranche of practices.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third-round pick by the Bengals in the 2024 NFL Draft, Burton flashed potential last season with four catches for 107 yards in 14 games.<\/p>\n

With Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas at the top of Cincinnati\u2019s wide receiver depth chart, Burton is working to carve out a larger role in the passing game, while also contributing on special teams.<\/p>\n
