As usual, the Kansas City Chiefs are facing high expectations for the upcoming season.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s the culture that they\u2019ve built over the past several years, and wouldn\u2019t have it any other way. The Chiefs have had some legendary teams since Patrick Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback in 2018, but the best one could be yet to come.<\/p>\n
While joining Kay Adams of \u201cUp & Adams\u201d following Monday\u2019s training camp practice, Mahomes talked about how hard he and his teammates have been preparing for the season.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been a lot of fun out here in St. Joe (Chiefs training camp home St. Joseph, MO),\u201d Mahomes said. \u201cIt\u2019s competition. We\u2019ve been getting after it, offense and defense. Special teams are doing a great job. I think guys are hungry, and that breeds excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n
Adams then asked Mahomes if this year\u2019s Chiefs team is the best he\u2019s had so far throughout his career.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we have a chance to be,\u201d Mahomes said. \u201cI always think we have the talent to be the best team that we\u2019ve ever had, but you got to go out there and prove it. Until we prove it, I\u2019m not going to say we\u2019re the best. But, if we go out there and win that Super Bowl, then we can say we\u2019re the best one.\u201d<\/p>\n
