During Friday’s training camp press conference,\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0wide receiver Nikko Remigio expressed his motivation to push for more in training camp.<\/p>\n

“I think the thing that I’ve learned with this business is that if you get too comfortable, you’re gonna get got,” said Remigio. “I work too hard to get to this point in my career, to get to year three, to let it slip through my fingers. So, you know, really, I approach every day like I’m an undrafted rookie, that barely got a shot to make it to the NFL, and I’m scratching and clawing to just get an opportunity.”<\/p>\n

Remigio is a favorite to continue as the starting punt returner, thanks to his contributions late last season into the playoffs.<\/p>\n

“Coach (Andy) Reid talks a lot about (motivation) during training camp, you’re going to have to get to a dark place. And that dark place resembles the space in your head that you’re going to have to get to in the AFC Championship, in the playoffs, when you’re down in the Super Bowl,” said Remigio. “There’s a lot that goes into that. And like you said, knowing my story and the journey it took for me to get here, I’ll never forget that. I’ll never forget that, and it’s always going to be a driver and a motivator for me.”<\/p>\n

In 2024, especially during the divisional round postseason victory over the\u00a0Houston Texans. Remigio’s 41 total punt return yards in the game ranked fifth-most in a postseason game in team history. He also had the fourth-longest postseason punt return in franchise history.<\/p>\n
