The Cleveland Browns are desperate to turn around the franchise\u2019s fortune and stay competitive year in and year out. Unfortunately for the Browns, there seem to be more question marks than answers heading into the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

The Browns still don\u2019t know who the starting quarterback will be for week one following Deshaun Watson\u2019s Achilles injury and subsequent setback in recovery, and news broke on Tuesday that they may need to figure out a critical defensive position as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrowns\u00a0CB Martin Emerson is down here at practice. Cart taking him off,\u201d\u00a0reported Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. \u201cNo weight on his left leg as he was helped to the cart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garafolo then had a follow-up that didn\u2019t paint a pretty picture.<\/p>\n

\u201cEmerson with a towel over his head and very emotional as he was driven off. Athletic trainers gave owner Jimmy Haslam an update he didn\u2019t seem to like.\u201d<\/p>\n

Devastatingly, the worst scenario was confirmed on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrowns HC Kevin Stefanski announced that CB Martin Emerson Jr. has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles,\u201d reported ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter.<\/p>\n

Fans reacted to the tough break on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cI absolutely hate this time of year when guys start playing again and there\u2019s tons of injuries,\u201d one fan wrote on Twitter.<\/p>\n

\"Browns<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is like the 3rd or 4th DB to go down for the season this training camp, feels like all the confirmation you need the league (shouldn\u2019t) stretch to 18 games,\u201d someone else added.<\/p>\n

\u201cApologies in advance for degenerate AFC north fans who celebrate this. But as a Steelers fan this is tough and injuries this time of year are always the worst,\u201d one Pittsburgh Steelers fan added.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, Emerson will make a full recovery and return strong than ever.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
