You see, Bleacher Report<\/em> just dropped their last league-wide offseason listicle, and this one’s got a little bite. They took a look around the NFL and found one player on each team that they thought had the biggest potential to be a ‘bust’ in 2025.<\/p>\n It’s a harsh (but, admittedly, very entertaining) read.<\/p>\n You can probably guess who they chose for the Green Bay Packers. To the surprise of absolutely no one, Bleacher Report<\/em> thinks that newly-acquired guard Aaron Banks is most likely to be the Packers’ biggest bust this season. I can’t really fault them there \u2013 I’m pretty confident it won’t be the last time we see this prediction before Week 1.<\/p>\n The Packers handed Banks a massive deal in free agency in a move that has received criticism. B\/R<\/em> predicts he will be the team’s “biggest bust” this season:<\/p>\n “Jenkins has been a two-time Pro Bowler at guard, and moving him to center full-time is a risk,” writes Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report. “If Banks can’t adequately replace him, he’ll likely be viewed as a bust. Unfortunately, quarterback Jordan Love may want to brace himself for a drop-off in pass protection on the left side. Pro Football Focus ranked Jenkins third among guards in pass pro last season but graded Banks just 77th.”<\/p>\n The first way to view this is the depressing way: the Packers shelled out a TON of money on a left guard who, uh, isn’t that<\/em> good. They also moved a two-time Pro Bowler to do so, a decision which doesn’t feel like a huge deal (insert argument about Pro Bowls here) but certainly didn’t provide the best optics of the offseason.<\/p>\n The other way to view this is slightly more silly but way better for your mental health: the Packers’ most likely bust option is a left guard. That’s fine! Better than quarterback, or running back, or defensive line. As far as slight (“slight”) overpays go, I can sleep soundly at night knowing the Packers invested in the offensive line. And when you’re ranking 77th in pass blocking, the only way you can go is up.<\/p>\n So if you think about it that way, Banks is really underrated.<\/em><\/p>\n It wasn’t exactly the offseason move of the year, and the Packers may live to regret it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":28116,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-28115","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-green-bay-packers"],"yoast_head":"\nBleacher Report is not remotely sold on the Packers’ Aaron Banks offseason signing<\/h2>\n
