Jayden Reed has All-Pro potential, but he must fix his issues with drops from last season. The third-year receiver isn’t waiting until training camp to put it right.<\/p>\n
Only a week away from the first Green Bay Packers players reporting to camp, Reed is busy working on his catching.<\/p>\n
Reed shared a video on social media of him catching balls with a JUGS machine. It doesn’t replicate real reps in the regular season, but it shows Reed’s commitment to fixing one of the only concerns with his game from last season.<\/p>\n
The former second-round pick has led the Packers in receiving two years running. Last year, he caught 55 passes for 857 yards and six touchdowns. However, per Pro Football Focus<\/em>, he dropped 10 passes, which tied for the second-most in the league.<\/p>\n Reed sharing the video publicly is a clear message to the fans.<\/p>\n He had too many drops last season, but he is actively working on fixing that part of his game. And there’s good reason to have confidence, as Reed only dropped three passes as a rookie, proving last year may have been an outlier.<\/p>\n The Packers hope Reed can elevate his game to an even higher level this season. He has Pro Bowl potential, which many outside of 1265 Lombardi Ave don’t seem to pay enough attention to.<\/p>\n Reed made a phenomenal start to the 2024 season, catching 36 passes for 620 yards and three touchdowns, while adding another score on the ground, in the opening nine games.<\/p>\n However, he made only 19 more receptions the rest of the season, with the Packers surprisingly limiting his role.<\/p>\n The Packers have high hopes for first-round pick Matthew Golden, but Reed could remain the star of this young wide receiver corps. The next step is to improve his consistency and prevent the unforced errors, but the sky is the limit.<\/p>\n Drafting Golden won’t reduce Reed’s opportunities \u2014 the Packers made that crystal clear.<\/p>\n If anything, Golden’s ability to stretch defenses vertically will create the space underneath that Reed needs to dominate. The first task?
