Patrick Mahomes\u00a0is looking to lead the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0back to the promised land, having already found success in his\u00a0NFL\u00a0career.<\/p>\n
Mahomes, who’s led the Chiefs to five AFC titles and three Super Bowls, is preparing for his ninth season in the NFL.<\/p>\n

As the Chiefs\u00a0quarterback\u00a0works through the offseason, he received bad news in terms of investments outside of the white lines.<\/p>\n
While Mahomes is widely regarded as one of the\u00a0best quarterbacks\u00a0in the NFL, he’s also built a massive business portfolio.<\/p>\n
Mahomes previously spoke on his desire to bring and invest in a\u00a0WNBA\u00a0team in Kansas City.<\/p>\n
On Monday, the league announced three expansion teams in the following cities: Cleveland, Detroit and Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
Despite Kansas City having bid on an opportunity to bring a team to the city, Mahomes and the rest of the investment group that planned to work in the WNBA atmosphere were denied.<\/p>\n
“Other cities that bid on teams that didn\u2019t get them include St. Louis; Kansas City, Mo.; Austin, Texas; Nashville, Tenn.; Houston; Miami; Denver; and Charlotte, N.C,” posted Vanshay Murdock, a videographer and WNBA social media presence.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfc0 Cleveland will begin play in 2028, Detroit in 2029 and Philadelphia the season after, assuming they get approval from the NBA and WNBA Board of Governors. Toronto and Portland will enter the league next year.<\/p>\n
