What is not in dispute is that the fight led Miami-Dade law enforcement authorities to seek attempted murder charges against Brown, 36, in relation to the incident that took place late in the evening of May 16, according to a Washington Post report based on court documents.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is one of the videos the lead to the arrest warrant being issued for Antonio Brown\u2019s arrest for attempted murder <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9AVTbGM4PK\">pic.twitter.com\/9AVTbGM4PK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; ThatsGoodSports (@BrandonPerna) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrandonPerna\/status\/1933327062737076494?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 13, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<div id=\"0401807922481fc08546435c6190a095\">\n<div>\n<article>This is one of the videos the lead to the arrest warrant being issued for Antonio Brown\u2019s arrest for attempted murder<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to a warrant reviewed by the <em>Post<\/em>, Brown punched another man, then grabbed a security guard\u2019s gun and fired at the alleged victim, leading to the attempted murder charge.<\/p>\n<p>Brown had an extremely brief but tumultuous career with the Patriots, playing just one game in 2019 \u2014 in which he caught four passes including a touchdown from quarterback Tom Brady \u2014 before the team released him over allegations of rape and sexual assault in a lawsuit against him.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/NINTCHDBPICT000467156197.jpg?strip=all&amp;w=606\" alt=\"Man thrown under car as Patriots fans fight each other in huge street riot  after Super Bowl celebrations turn into violent rage | The Sun\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After that lawsuit was publicly reported, Brown reportedly sent \u201cintimidating\u201d text messages to the woman who was suing him. According to an ESPN report, \u201cthe text messages, sent while Brown was a member of New England Patriots, were viewed by some in the organization to have crossed the line,\u201d and played a role in his release after just two weeks on the New England roster.<\/p>\n<p>Following the May 16 incident in Miami, Brown took to his social media accounts to deny any wrongdoing, claiming that he was the victim of a robbery attempt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me,\u201d Brown\u2019s post on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) read. \u201cContrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But on Friday, the British Daily Mail tabloid newspaper reported an account from a man saying he was Brown\u2019s victim that night, New Orelans-based artist and activist Z\u00fcl-Qarna\u012fn Nantambu.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <em>Mail<\/em> account, which has not been independently verified, Nantambu claims that he and Brown are engaged in a legal dispute over a 2022 incident in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in which the artist alleges that Brown \u2014 who played on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl winning 2020 team \u2014 \u201cstole a valuable pendant he had designed and produced. Nantambu further said Brown lied to police in the United Arab Emirates, accusing him of theft and resulting in Nantambu\u2019s brief imprisonment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nantambu later sued Brown, according to the <em>Mail<\/em> account, winning a judgement of $968,960 in 2022. The judgment was vacated in 2024, however, and Nantambu is now in U.S. bankruptcy court seeking a reduced amount of $123,600, the <em>Mail<\/em> reported on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with the <em>Mail<\/em>, Nantambu speculates that Brown hoped he could end the lawsuit by shooting Brown with impunity under Florida\u2019s \u201cStand Your Ground\u201d law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe thought he would get a free kill,\u201d Nantambu alleges in the <em>Mail<\/em> interview.<\/p>\n<p>Brown denies Nantambu\u2019s allegations, according to court documents cited by the <em>Daily Mail<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Nantambu briefly gained viral fame for a protest he staged during during the Super Bowl in February, when he ran onto the field during a halftime performance by rapper Kendrick Lamar, waving Palestinian and Sudanese flags.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the more controversial players in New England Patriots history is seen on video in a massive brawl that led to charges against him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":25688,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-25687","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-new-england-patriots"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.7 -
