He said year one under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley was all about learning the basics, but now it\u2019s about expanding and really making an impact.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/center><\/div>\n<p>\u201cHaving a full offseason with this defense, you could already see that [Hafley] is creating some stuff,\u201d said Williams. \u201cIt&#8217;s already looking to be effective. I feel that disguise wise we were really good last year and there&#8217;s still another step that we can take in that department.\u201d<\/p>\n<div contenteditable=\"false\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s7d2.scene7.com\/is\/image\/TWCNews\/evan_3\" alt=\"Packers safety Evan Williams looks to make bigger impact in year two\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(Spectrum News 1\/Geno Perez)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In year one, Williams made the Professional Football Writers of America All-Rookie team, but he said that\u2019s just the tip of the iceberg\u00a0of what he can do.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a guy that learns through experience,\u201d said Williams.\u00a0\u201cLearns\u00a0through being in the fire more than just sitting back and watching. And so I feel like\u2026each rep, each step I&#8217;m taking this year, I&#8217;m just gaining confidence, gaining experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Williams started six games as a rookie, but\u00a0multiple injuries affected his availability for the team.\u00a0Head Coach Matt LaFleur said that\u2019s been an emphasis for Williams this\u00a0offseason.<\/p>\n<div contenteditable=\"false\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s7d2.scene7.com\/is\/image\/TWCNews\/evan_4\" alt=\"Packers safety Evan Williams looks to make bigger impact in year two\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(Spectrum News 1\/Geno Perez)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cHe&#8217;s got to continue to learn his body, and because I know we had there were some injuries last year just to make sure that he&#8217;s available,\u201d said LaFleur. \u201cI think just building on what he&#8217;s already done and being consistent with it. Again, another guy that loves the game, he&#8217;s extremely intelligent. He comes in with the right mentality and he just works.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Williams said he has all the confidence in the world about the corners they have\u00a0in their secondary. He has some comforting words to those who\u00a0may\u00a0have concerns about the\u00a0cornerback\u00a0position and the rest of their defense.<\/p>\n<div contenteditable=\"false\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s7d2.scene7.com\/is\/image\/TWCNews\/evan_2-1\" alt=\"Packers safety Evan Williams looks to make bigger impact in year two\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(Spectrum News 1\/Geno Perez)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m not worried about our group at all,\u201d said Williams. We&#8217;ve been balling out so far in OTAs and we&#8217;ll see if we pick up somebody else. I know we&#8217;re a little light right now just because we have a couple of injuries right now. But no, I don&#8217;t worry is what I would say to anybody worrying. We&#8217;re going to get it figured out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Williams\u00a0made a big impact in his rookie season\u00a0in his 13 games played.
