<\/p>\nThe Kansas City Chiefs may have a new star on their hands in their secondary.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0needed a bit of help in their secondary going into the offseason, as the team was in the bottom half of the league this past season in passing yards allowed.<\/p>\n
And they may have gotten just that in free agency.<\/p>\n
The reigning AFC champions signed former\u00a0Los Angeles Chargers\u00a0cornerback Kristian Fulton to a two-year, $20 million deal earlier this offseason. According to multiple reports, he has been impressing at the team’s OTAs.<\/p>\n

The former LSU Tiger was drafted in the second round of the 2020\u00a0NFL Draft\u00a0by the\u00a0Tennessee Titans, where he spent the first four seasons of his career. He then signed with the Chiefs’ AFC West rival Chargers, and had one of the best years of his career in his one year with them.<\/p>\n
In 2024, the 26-year-old racked up a solid number of tackles for a cornerback with 51, 39 of which were solo. He was also able to show his ball-hawk skills with seven passes defended as well as an interception.<\/p>\n
The Chiefs have one of the\u00a0best defensive backs\u00a0in the entire\u00a0NFL\u00a0in Trent McDuffie. But behind him, the team’s depth at the position was not too hot entering the year. So adding Fulton, who is entering his sixth season in the league, may have been exactly what the doctor ordered.<\/p>\n
Kansas City is coming off of a loss in the\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0to the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles, so Fulton and the rest of the team’s defense will be looking to help lead the team back to the playoffs to redeem themselves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
