As the NFL world wonders what’s going on with the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers \u2014 the four-time MVP may have his mind elsewhere, perhaps on retiring as a Packer.<\/p>\n
At last weekend\u2019s Mike Stud concert, the four-time MVP was asked by a spectator during a Q\/A if he’d ever retire with his former Green Bay Packers. Rodgers at first disagreed that all players should retire with their former teams \u2014 before seemingly acknowledging the possibility of hanging it up in Green Bay:<\/p>\n
“I understand the cool thing about it, but if I didn’t do it \u2014 would that make a difference in how I’m viewed in the Packers\u2019 eyes? When I retire, in four years, I’m going to go into the Packers Hall of Fame, may or may not get my number retired. Whether they do or not is fine,” Rodgers explained. “There’s a lot of love from me and how I feel about the team. If I do or don’t [retire a Packer], I don’t think it should make a difference.”<\/p>\n
In his final thoughts on the matter, Rodgers would ultimately leave the ball in the Packers\u2019 court:<\/p>\n
“I’m not sure yet. If [the Packers] approach me about it, I probably would.”<\/p>\n
His retirement time frame of “four years” is interesting, to say the least \u2014 but it’s entirely possible he was simply painting a theoretical picture of when he’d call it quits.<\/p>\n
Many analysts have agreed that Rodgers’ 2025 decision will come down to the Steelers or retirement \u2014 and now, we know where he may hang it up after what has been a Hall of Fame-worthy career.<\/p>\n
