The Cleveland Browns may have gotten the steal of the 2025 NFL draft when they took quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round.\u00a0 His fall in the draft was one of the most surprising stories in recent memory regarding rookies in general.<\/p>\n

However, he isn\u2019t afraid to make early decisions regarding his new NFL contract and what he\u2019ll do with that money.<\/p>\n

In a chat with reporters after his first minicamp session, Sanders admitted the obvious:<\/p>\n

Sanders isn\u2019t going to make as much money as expected after falling in the draft, having slipped out of the first round all the way to the fifth, where the\u00a0Cleveland Browns\u00a0put a life net under him at No. 144.<\/p>\n

He now has his work cut out for him to prove he deserves a spot on the Browns\u2019 53-man roster.<\/p>\n

His rookie deal, which would span four years, isn\u2019t expected to surpass the $4.6 million mark. As such, the former Colorado star isn\u2019t looking to make any lavish purchases, although he was already a millionaire before the draft.<\/p>\n

While speaking to reporters this week, Shedeur was asked whether he would consider buying the No. 2 off DeAndre Carter after the Browns assigned the wide receiver the number.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not tryna buy anything,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he replied with a smile.\u00a0\u201cMy signing bonus ain\u2019t that high right now.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Browns gave Shedeur Sanders the No. 12 instead of allowing him to keep his old college digit, which means he and former CU teammate\u00a0Travis Hunter\u00a0will be wearing the same number, unless there\u2019s a change.<\/p>\n

When it comes to spending, the new Browns QB can afford to be patient as he\u2019s probably already got everything he wants by now. He\u2019ll have more than enough to splash on lavish purchases if he earns another NFL contract.<\/p>\n
