The Bengals hired Al Golden a defensive coordinator this offseason.<\/p>\n

CINCINNATI \u2014<\/strong>\u00a0DJ Turner and the Bengals defense are\u00a0getting acclimated\u00a0well to new coordinator Al Golden. The third-year cornerback noted how the defense\u00a0is trying\u00a0to\u00a0“perfect”\u00a0the install.<\/p>\n

Turner is pulling his weight there while he returns from a broken clavicle.<\/p>\n

“Just consistency\u2014that’s\u00a0the main thing,”\u00a0Turner noted to Fox\u00a019’s\u00a0Reagan Holgate and more.\u00a0“Right now, we take it step by step, and\u00a0we’re\u00a0just perfecting the defense. We are all learning a new defense right now, the\u00a0first time installing it. So, the main focus right now is just perfecting defense.”<\/p>\n

\"Cincinnati<\/p>\n

Turner is making his case to start at cornerback for Cincinnati this coming fall as Golden puts his spin on the\u00a0Bengals’lagging unit.<\/p>\n

The young player improved his play to a 67.8 Pro Football Focus grade this past season on 508 snaps (51.5 grade as a rookie).<\/p>\n

“Good energy player-coach,”\u00a0Turner said about Golden.\u00a0“I can go in there right now and talk to him about anything, and\u00a0that’s\u00a0really important. so I feel comfortable about that, and like I\u00a0said\u00a0there’s\u00a0real good energy.\u00a0It’s\u00a0been good energy, excitement,\u00a0you know,\u00a0just really honing in\u00a0on\u00a0the base stuff right now.”<\/p>\n

Cincinnati has rookie minicamp coming up this weekend to continue the 2025 offseason.<\/p>\n
