The Green Bay Packers still have a major need to address before the 2025 NFL season kicks off in September.<\/p>\n

During Super Bowl LIX, the Philadelphia Eagles proved how valuable a relentless barrage of pressure can be on a quarterback, and the Packers have yet to take any big swings to upgrade the position through the first two weeks of free agency.<\/p>\n

However, Green Bay could be well-positioned to pull off a blockbuster trade to acquire one of the most covetd pass rushers available this offseason.<\/p>\n

Could the Green Bay Packers Trade for Trey Hendrickson?<\/h2>\n

After the Cincinnati Bengals committed upwards of $275 million to wide receivers Ja\u2019Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, Trey Hendrickson could be the odd-man-out amid an expensive offseason spending spree.<\/p>\n

Hendrickson requested a trade earlier this offseason, and the Packers could be an ideal fit to pull off a blockbuster trade.<\/p>\n

Ian Valentino of The 33rd Team suggests the Packers could land Hendrickson in exchange for the No. 23 overall pick and No. 159 overall pick this year as well as a second-round-round pick in 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Packers are an ideal landing spot for a top-notch defensive star,\u201d Valentino writes for The 33rd Team. \u201cThis is a young roster with only a few notable needs, so spending two picks in this class won\u2019t sting. They\u2019ve also managed their cap well and have the future flexibility needed to justify adding a top pass-rusher contract to its books.<\/p>\n

\u201cComing off four straight Pro Bowls and an All-Pro season, the 30-year-old Hendrickson is still at the peak of his powers. The Packers have one high-level presence in Rashan Gary on the roster but are otherwise too reliant on rotational talents and scheming to create opportunities. Hendrickson solves that immediately and can be the bridge into future years when Gary will also exit his prime years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hendrickson would be an instant impact difference-maker along the Packers\u2019 front seven, which could have a transformational impact in coordinator Jeff Hafley\u2019s defense that is predicated on dominant safety play on the back end.<\/p>\n

After all, Hendrickson has already posted 77 career sacks, and is fresh off two consecutive 17.5-sack seasons as one of the sport\u2019s more consistently dominant pass rushers.<\/p>\n

As Pro Football Focus points out, Hendrickson led the league with 83 quarterback pressures while finishing as the outlent\u2019s eighth ranked pass rusher.<\/p>\n

Adding Hendrickson would be a strong counterpunch in a division where slowing the Detroit Lions\u2019 prolific passing attack and a conference where Jalen Hurts and the Eagles\u2019 offense are standing in the way of the Packers making a run at the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

Whether the Packers can pry Hendrickson away from the Bengals remains to be seen, but if the price is three draft picks over the next two years, it\u2019s a move that Brian Gutekunst and the Packers would be wise to consider.<\/p>\n
