In case the the overwhelming adrenaline rush of Free Agency Week 1 just wasn’t quite enough for you, good news: the Colts got an early start on Week 2.<\/p>\n
All that Trey Hendrickson speculation simply won’t go away, this time thanks to the latest report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Fowler was on SportsCenter talking about all the fallout from a wild week in the NFL \u2013\u00a0and some of what to expect going forward \u2013\u00a0when he weighed in on what’s currently happening between Cincinnati and Hendrickson.<\/p>\n
And long story short: nothing. But that’s not what’s important. What’s important is that, in theory, if something was<\/em> going to happen, Fowler apparently thinks the Colts would, in theory, make sense as a trade partner. It’s the type of answer that sounds just informed enough to keep hope alive, which is, admittedly, very convenient for a Colts blog. Everyone wins!<\/p>\n “[Hendrickson’s] certainly open to a trade at this point,” he said. “I’m hearing the Bengals have not been overly eager to accept those trade calls and they’ve gotten them to look into it and really seriously entertain a trade here. It seems like they still want to try to find a way to keep him, but the question is do they have the cash to do it? One team I’m watching for is the Indianapolis Colts because there are just a lot of ties to Hendrickson”<\/p>\n Fowler went on to point out that not only is Hendrick’s college coach now the defensive line coach in Indianapolis, but the Colts’ defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo spent six years in the same position with the Bengals before being let go after the 2024 season. They also, notably, really need the help.<\/p>\n It does kinda feel like the Bengals aren’t going to end up trading Henderson at this point but he’s also not wrong. <\/em>He’s not closing the book on a blockbuster Trey Hendrickson, so neither am I.<\/p>\n I’ll take it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":17667,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-17666","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cincinnati-bengals"],"yoast_head":"\n
