The Kansas City Chiefs are still fresh off of their blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. However, they are focused on preparing to make another run in 2025.<\/p>\n
With free agency set to open early next week, the Chiefs are going to be an intriguing team to keep an eye on.<\/p>\n
First and foremost, Kansas City has a big-time free agent set to hit the open market. Nick Bolton, the team’s star linebacker, is expected to have a robust list of teams interested in him. The Chiefs would love to bring him back.<\/p>\n
In addition, Kansas City needs to make additions to the roster.<\/p>\n
There is no telling how aggressive they will be, but an intriguing name has been suggested as a potentially “perfect” target.<\/p>\n
Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus has suggested an interesting name for the Chiefs. He thinks they should look to poach star offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley away from the Baltimore Ravens.<\/p>\n
Doing so would be a win-win scenario for Kansas City. Stanley would be a big addition to help keep Patrick Mahomes upright and healthy and the move would also weaken the Ravens.<\/p>\n
“Kansas City could draft a touted tackle in the first round, but the team’s second-round selection of Kingsley Suamataia last season didn’t yield many fast fixes,” Locker wrote. “In 2021, Brett Veach signed Thuney after watching his offensive line get pummeled in Super Bowl 55, and the same could follow with Stanley this offseason after his unit was bludgeoned by the Eagles’ front.”<\/p>\n
As briefly mentioned in the above clip from Locker’s article, the Chiefs recently traded Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears. That has opened up an even bigger need on the offensive line.<\/p>\n
Spotrac has projected that Staley’s market value is around a two-year deal worth just over $41.3 million. Keep an eye on this option for Kansas City.<\/p>\n
