The Kansas City Chiefs got run out of the building in Super Bowl LIX by the Philadelphia Eagles, with the final score settling in at 40-22. Despite that, the team never gave up, with Patrick Mahomes revealed to have made one big request of his team as they trailed early in the second half.<\/p>\n
While Mahomes’ counting stats look respectable in the final box score (257 yards, three touchdowns) he also committed three turnovers and took six sacks on the night. Simply put, Mahomes chose a bad time to put together one of the worst outings of his career, which is\u00a0something he admitted after the game.<\/p>\n

“We didn’t start how we wanted to. The turnovers hurt. I take all the blame for that,” Mahomes said. “I didn’t play to my standard.”<\/p>\n
Even in a game where pretty much everything went Philadelphia’s way, Kansas City battled until the clock struck zero. That included Mahomes, who pleaded with his team to get a touchdown on the board when they were trailing 27-0 early in the second half of the game.<\/p>\n
“Let’s go put one on the board,” Mahomes said before heading back on the field for the Chiefs.<\/p>\n
