<\/p>\nDallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was somewhat forgotten after Week 9, thanks to tearing his hamstring off the bone in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons, which ended his season.<\/p>\n

While Dallas’ season was already teetering at 3-4, Prescott’s injury put a line through the Cowboys’ attempts at any real comeback.<\/p>\n
Given Dak needed surgery, many are unsure of exactly what type of player he will be coming back, with the need for quarterbacks to be mobile on the field, something that Prescott hasn’t been as much over the past 18 months, and ironically, he was trying to be more of a runner against Atlanta before his hamstring gave out.<\/p>\n

But speaking at a Children’s Cancer Fund event, Prescott offered an update on how he’s feeling as the offseason approaches.<\/p>\n
“My health is good, doing a lot more, getting there,” Prescott said. “I think I’m what 12 weeks or so out of surgery now, so really looking to amp it up here, got all my confidence. We’ll be fine.”<\/p>\n
“Amp it up” … sounds like a 3-word chunk of good news.<\/p>\n

So Prescott is making good progress. While he was a running quarterback earlier in his career, and it was a valuable weapon, we aren’t sure new head coach\/offensive play caller\u00a0Brian Schottenheimer\u00a0will want No. 4 to be taking off much going forward.<\/p>\n
It looms as a big offseason for the Cowboys. Several roster holes need to be filled, and this can be done with the help of what could be up to $100 million in cap space. their quarterback is coming off a serious injury, so things could be looking up.<\/p>\n
Schottenheimer’s first season as an NFL head coach won’t be for the faint-hearted, but at least he’s got Dak back, and while the Cowboys have a few stars, their hopes stop and start with No. 4.<\/p>\n
