Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0tight end\u00a0Travis Kelce\u00a0will have a lot to ponder over the coming weeks as he digests the 40-22\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0loss while deciding what to do with his footballing future.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old has nothing left to prove in the\u00a0NFL\u00a0and is already considered by many to be the\u00a0best tight end\u00a0ever to grace a\u00a0football field, and he has made a living for producing in big moments in the biggest games.<\/p>\n
But if you were hoping for a quick resolution to Kelce’s future, you’re out of luck with the veteran tight end in no mood to rush his decision.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason, Travis detailed all that will determine whether he returns in 2025.<\/p>\n
“I think I’m gonna take some time to figure it out,”\u00a0Kelce said. “I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back, it’s going to be something that it’s a wholehearted decision, I’m not half-assing it, I’m fully here for them. I think I can play. It’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.”<\/p>\n
Coming off what was his worst statistical season since his rookie year (823 yards, three touchdowns), Kelce, for some, should be hanging up the cleats and looking forward to the next phase of his life.<\/p>\n
But if there’s anything we know about Kelce, it’s that whatever he decides, he will be all gas and no brakes, but it isn’t known if he wants his career to end with that Super Bowl blowout.<\/p>\n
Either way, Kelce has a lot to think about regarding his football future over the coming weeks and whether or not he wants the responsibility of playing in the NFL again in 2025.<\/p>\n
