Outside of the occasional Davante Adams interview, there hasn&#8217;t been much to make headlines out of.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-2\">That, uh, ended on Wednesday. While doing the media rounds on Wednesday afternoon, Packers running back Josh Jacobs officially dipped his toes into some headline drama during an interview with a local radio show. They asked Jacobs how he feels about the offense \u2013 and the wide receiver group, obivously \u2013 heading into next year, and his answer will almost certainly have him consulting the notes app at some point in the next 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/.image\/t_share\/MjEyNjI2OTA3ODQ4NTE3MTI5\/usatsi_25173728.jpg\" alt=\"Packers Star Calls Out Fans After Josh Jacobs Criticism, Then Deletes Post  - Athlon Sports\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-4\">&#8220;We&#8217;ve got a really young group of receivers that all can be really, really special,&#8221; Jacobs said. &#8220;But I think, personally, we need a guy that&#8217;s proven to be a number one already. One that we know is going to be a little more consistent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-5\">Yikes! Not the best answer \u2013\u00a0although it&#8217;s hard to blame him for feeling that way \u2013\u00a0but I&#8217;m sure no one on the Packers will take that personally, right? Like, this is more of a cry for Adams than it is shade at anyone currently on the roster, right? No? That&#8217;s not at all what happened? We were just gliding through the offseason without an ounce of real controversy \u2013 except for that weird three days when everyone wanted to fire Matt LaFleur? \u2013\u00a0but now we got exactly what we asked for. Now that we have two teammates kinda throwing half-hearted shade at one another through tht media, the offseason can officially begin.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-10\">The best part about this whole thing is that everybody&#8217;s right. The Packers <em>do<\/em> need a bonafide #1 in the wide receiver room, but I also don&#8217;t blame Wicks at all for not loving the fact that Jacobs&#8217; is going around saying that publicly. Everyone is right, and no one&#8217;s going to win. It&#8217;s really the best-case scenario, if the best-case scenario was unnecessary drama that&#8217;ll now go on for three days longer than it needs to.
