The Cincinnati Bengals are entering a major offseason for the future of the franchise. A big part of that is Ja\u2019Marr Chase, who is past due for his first contract extension since being drafted by Cincinnati in 2021.<\/p>\n
After failing to get Chase extended prior to the 2024 season, the Bengals will likely have to pay him even more following his Triple Crown season.<\/p>\n
So, what could that deal look like?<\/p>\n
At the very least, it will top Justin Jefferson\u2019s deal as the current highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. That was a four-year, $140 million extension he got on the final year of his rookie contract in June of 2024. That deal also included $88.7 million in guaranteed money.<\/p>\n
As Chase enters the final year of his deal, Spotrac projects him to land a four-year extension worth $145 million overall and $100 million in guarantees.<\/p>\n
That total value may actually be lower than what Chase could receive. Prior to this season, he was reportedly set to barely pass Jefferson to be the highest-paid NFL receiver.<\/p>\n
Now, after having one of the best seasons a receiver has ever had, Chase\u2019s next contract may blow right past Jefferson\u2019s deal.<\/p>\n
