(Photo by Nic Antaya\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n The Detroit Lions\u2019 success might have been a surprise in the 2023 season, but teams knew what to expect from them coming into 2024.<\/p>\n Dan Campbell established himself as a great, well-liked coach, and the Lions proved that their offense could compete with the best of them last year.<\/p>\n While everyone knew that the Lions were going to come back better than ever, they were still nearly impossible to stop during the regular season, only losing two games throughout the year.<\/p>\n Their strong play earned them the NFC\u2019s No. 1 seed, and they are just two games away from the Super Bowl as a result.<\/p>\n The Lions\u2019 offense was led by Jared Goff, who put up numbers that put him in the MVP conversation, but he also got a lot of help from the ground game.<\/p>\n Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery combined for one of the scariest backfields in the league, a two-headed monster that petrified opposing defenses.<\/p>\n Montgomery has been out due to injury, but it appears that he\u2019s going to try to play in the divisional round this weekend.<\/p>\n His teammates are, of course, excited to have him back in the building, but no one was as jovial as Gibbs.<\/p>\n As Gibbs mentioned in a press conference shared via Dov Kleiman on X, \u201cI missed him a lot, just being around him everyday.\u201d<\/p>\n Wholesome: #Lions<\/a> RB Jahmyr Gibbs speaks on RB David Montgomery coming back:<\/p>\n \u201cI missed him a lot, just being around him everyday.\u201d<\/p>\n He finally has his knuckles back \u2764\ufe0f\ud83e\udd79pic.twitter.com\/gEwYRMZyhX<\/a><\/p>\n — Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) January 15, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/p>\n
