The Chicago Bears getting embarrassed by the Detroit Lions seems to be something of a regular occurrence in recent years, with the Lions sweeping their NFC North rivals earlier this season.<\/p>\n

Bears\u2019 No. 1 pick Caleb Williams still has some ways to go before developing into a franchise quarterback, including learning how to escape heavy pressure, read different defensive schemes and\u2026 spot a catfish.<\/p>\n

Williams was victim to a cruel prank last weekend when some tricksters got his number and pretended to be Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who at the time was set to interview for the Bears\u2019 head coaching vacancy.<\/p>\n

Williams received a text from the fake Johnson in which Johnson said he was taking the Bears\u2019 job and was excited to work with Williams. When Williams tried Face-timing the number, he quickly found out he was being pranked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re a great QB, I\u2019m so glad you\u2019re going to get a new head coach. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s Ben Johnson, but I\u2019m sorry about this,\u201d one of the pranksters said over the phone.<\/p>\n

After the prank went viral, Williams told his side of the story on a recent episode of the St. Brown Podcast<\/em>:<\/p>\n

“I reached out to Amon-Ra and I asked Amon-Ra for Ben\u2019s number not for obviously\u2014I wasn\u2019t going to save his number \u2018cause he\u2019s not our coach and I wasn\u2019t going to do all that\u2026 I was asking him so I could see if it matches this number,\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n

Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown then jumped in to provide some clarity.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe texts me, \u2018What\u2019s Ben\u2019s number? I got these random dudes trying to hit me up saying they\u2019re Ben.\u2019 I go, \u2018F— out of here, Ben ain\u2019t coming to Chicago,\u2019\u201d St. Brown said. \u201cThen he goes, \u2018Nah, these guys are hitting me up saying they\u2019re Ben.\u2019 But at this time I was eating dinner so I didn\u2019t see my phone, 20 minutes later I see the text but it\u2019s too late. He goes, \u2018All good. I called and it wasn\u2019t him.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

“The text was so official. I’ve gotten that text from college coaches and other coaches before getting drafted and all that in different ways.”<\/p>\n
